Prey Shortage! NP Roleplay!

I've noticed that we haven't been bonding/roleplaying much as a pack so... I've created a roleplay!

What's Happening? Northern Pack is undergoing a prey shortage from a recent fire.


Bluefyre rushed back to camp, finding it almost ruined, with blackened marks on the ground and the trees nearby bare from the previous flames. Her fur was slightly charred but otherwise she was unhurt.

Mooncry rushed back to camp behind Bluefyre. Her normally white fur was dark gray from all the ash on it. On the way back, she hadn't seen any prey.

Silverstorm stumbled in, coughing. Black flecks of ash fell from her coat, and her white ear fur was stained. Everywhere she looked, she saw death: charred trees, dark cinders, and the dead bodies of prey, burned beyone recognition.

Silentshadow prowled in after her Pack, her thick fur coated in a fine layer of black soot, lungs burning from the ash in the air.

~But I thought we lived in a no tree area... with lots of snow...? >.>~

~ There's a few trees about ~

Ice shook the dust of her fur, her paws leaving gray pawprints on the white snow. "What are we going to do now??" she let out a howl of dismay.

"Rebuild," Silentshadow answered simply. "And make without. Winterstream, you, Silverstorm, and... Bluefyre, please, go around the territory to see if other fires are still burning and if any prey is still left at all."

~Nah... winter areas have a lot of pine trees because they don't lose leaves... at least it is like that in India~

Sunny Snow caught up with Bluefyre. "May I join you?" she wondered aloud.

Silentshadow glanced at her irritabely. "Don't ask her," she snapped; then, calming down, she gestured with her muzzle. "Go with her anyways. Split up so you'll take less time. Two to a group." Silentshadow surveyed the wreckage of the camp with her dark golden eyes. "Drag out the burned stuff first," she decided, half to herself.

Ice nodded obediently to her alpha, backing away and bounded into the woods in search of prey. She caught sight of a small deer in the distance and leaped after it. It spotted her approach and fled, with her after its tail. Ice let out a hiss of frustration when it entered Southern Pack territory's border line, its cautious eyes never leaving her.

Part of her longed to cross the border and catch the deer, but she knew that the Laws of the Pack was against it. She growled at the deer," You're in luck today."

"Come on, Winterstream." Silverstorm nudged the Veggie () and bounced away.

Silentshadow rolled her eyes at Silverstorm and picked up the end of a charred branch. "Don't annoy him to death," she mumbled, and headd toward the entrance. Pausing by the burned bramble-and-pine tunnel, she quickly jerked down the burned parts and pummeled it into a respectable ball. "Drag it out, will you?".

Silverstorm padded through the area, sniffing. When she saw a smoldering leaf, she kicked dirt over it, also making her pelt dirtier in the process.

Winterstream followed, obediently. He searched the areas thoroughly, not sensing movement other than the small insects crawling about the charred ground. His hopes for food were diminishing, but giving up was not an option...

Silverstorm waited for her friend. "Seen anything?" she asked Winterstream. "It's like all dead." She gazed into the distance. Through the absence of trees she could see the other mountain far away. She sighed. So many charred and useless stumps... And no prey at all.

Winterstream agreed, sullenly, and in that instant he thought he saw a flicker of movement in the distance. Not seeing anything to back up his insight, he felt his stomach growl like a bears'....and he wondered when the hallucinations would begin... He could only let out an anguished howl for food....desperate and hungry.

"Come on." Silverstorm crunched through the debris, sniffing desperately for a sign, any sign of any prey. But it was all gone. She occasionally sighted crisped little bodies. How was this possible? She thought.

Winterstorm followed, his padded feet crunching on the charred remains. He took an experimental bite out of a burnt body lying on the ground. Spitting it out instantly, he felt the sour taste linger in his mouth. All he could do now was keep searching, for the better of the pack. "The area is big, there must be food left," he thought aloud, but the hopes diminished into the crisp air as the sun set lower into the horizon, the red streaks beginning to show in the sky

"It's not likely, the fire was strong too," Silverstorm argued. Then she sighed. "But I wish you were right." Seeing the sun setting, she started back toward camp.

Winterstream could only agree, and trudge behind the heels of Silverstorm back to the camp, the pungent odor of burning still in the air, hoping the other search teams had better luck...

Silverstorm located Silentshadow and trotted to her. "We split up," she informed the alpha. "We don't know about the other searching wolves, but we found no prey at all. They've either all roasted to death, or escaped far away. At least there are no more fires." Silverstorm seriously doubted any of the other search teams had better luck.
